No. 21 UCLA is 4–0 and No. 13 Oregon is 3–1. Kickoff at Autzen Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern.

Reported facts and availability

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is listed out while in concussion protocol. The Friday Big Ten report also lists multiple Ducks out and defensive back Aaron Scott Jr. questionable. UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava has 820 passing yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Wayne Knight leads UCLA with 445 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

Oregon’s season passing totals were built largely with Moore, so they should not be transferred unchanged to a different quarterback. The final starter and active list remain the most important pregame information.

ISR analysis: what changes the matchup

Oregon’s replacement plan matters more than the name alone. A backup can be asked to reproduce the full offense, or the staff can lean on quicker reads, the run game and field position. The opening series should reveal which burden Oregon is willing to place on the passing game.

UCLA can challenge that plan by forcing longer downs, but overcommitting to the run can create simple play-action throws. The Bruins’ own offense has a powerful rushing threat in Knight. Oregon’s defense must distinguish between real run action and the routes built behind it.

Season averages describe lineups that may no longer exist. For this matchup, efficiency by personnel group and down is more useful than a single yards-per-game number. Watch whether Oregon can generate explosive plays without creating obvious passing situations.

Factors to watch

  • Oregon’s starting quarterback and opening-script design.
  • How often UCLA forces third-and-long.
  • Knight’s yards before contact and Oregon’s run fits.
  • Scott’s final status and Oregon’s secondary rotations.
