Tuesday’s Sports Recap

November 2: Chicago wins in Seattle, Gonzaga and UCLA take the Las Vegas openers, and all 198 listed NFL, NBA and men’s college games are final.

Covered action date: Monday, November 2, 2026, Eastern Time. All 198 listed games are final: one NFL game, 15 NBA games and 182 games on the men’s Division I basketball schedule, including games against non-Division I opponents. Scheduled starts were checked in Eastern Time, not simply assigned by their UTC date. These are sports results, not ISR’s paid-pick performance.

NFL — Chicago 34, Seattle 17

Matchup / box scoreAway–homeStatus
Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks34–17Final
  • Caleb Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown.
  • D’Andre Swift rushed 27 times for 69 yards and three touchdowns. Chicago finished with 363 total yards to Seattle’s 252.
  • Sam Darnold passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught six passes for 118 yards and a score.

ISR analysis: Swift’s touchdown count and modest per-carry yardage describe different parts of the same performance. Keep the drive locations and finishing opportunities beside the rushing total when reviewing Chicago’s offense.

NBA — all 15 finals

  • Oklahoma City won 117–112 at Cleveland. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 43 and had eight assists; Isaiah Hartenstein collected 14 rebounds.
  • Houston beat Boston 109–93. Alperen Şengün recorded 26 points and ten assists, while Jabari Smith Jr. grabbed ten rebounds. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 19 points.
  • The Lakers beat Miami 138–117. Luka Dončić finished with 42 points and 13 assists; Walker Kessler had 15 rebounds. Miami’s Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 30 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Golden State edged Phoenix 116–113. Stephen Curry scored 34 with seven assists. Devin Booker scored 26 for the Suns.

ISR analysis: Boston’s road back-to-back ended differently from the Lakers’ high-scoring win and Oklahoma City’s close finish. Separate available lineups, possession quality and workload rather than applying one explanation to every result.

  • Gonzaga beat Purdue 78–72 in Las Vegas. Davis Fogle scored 22; Braden Huff had seven rebounds. Purdue’s Daniel Jacobsen finished with 22 points and seven rebounds.
  • UCLA beat Arizona 84–75 in the second Las Vegas game. Trent Perry scored 21 and Jaylen Petty had seven assists. Arizona’s Ivan Kharchenkov recorded 38 points and ten rebounds.
  • Florida beat Miami 77–67. Thomas Haugh scored 19 and Rueben Chinyelu had 14 rebounds. Acaden Lewis scored 24 for Miami.
  • BYU beat Ohio State 94–83. Robert Wright III led BYU with 33 points and five assists. Amare Bynum scored 20 for the Buckeyes.

ISR analysis: The opening results provide competitive evidence for new combinations, but only one regular-season game per team. Kharchenkov’s large individual total in defeat is a useful reminder to evaluate the whole possession and team result alongside scoring.

NCAA Football FBS: No November 2 games listed. MLB: No November 2 games listed.

Betting notebook — retained source snapshots

These comparisons use DraftKings prices displayed by ESPN and retained in ISR’s November 2 previews. The NFL and NBA lines were checked at 7:27 a.m. EST, the two college lines at 7:28 a.m. EST. They are dated morning snapshots, not universal closing lines or market-movement claims.

  • Gonzaga covered -5.5; 150 points finished under 154.5.
  • UCLA covered +4.5; 159 points finished over 149.5.
  • Oklahoma City covered +4.5; 229 points finished over 228.5.
  • Houston covered -4.5; 202 points finished under 219.5.

No betting outcome is assigned to other games without an explicitly retained source line. These comparisons are not ISR paid-pick results.

4 STAR★★★★
NFL

Jacksonville -2.5 over New England (NFL)

Playable range: -1 to -4.5

Why we like this pick

I like Jacksonville’s opportunity to turn New England’s early ball-security problems into an advantage at home. Drake Maye entered this game with four interceptions through two weeks, while the Jaguars had already produced three takeaways. That creates a path to shorter fields if Jacksonville’s front can apply pressure. On offense, Trevor Lawrence has capable options in Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers, but protection against New England’s strong defensive front is essential. The Patriots are disciplined enough to keep this competitive; I’m backing Jacksonville to make the more decisive plays and cover a manageable home spread.

3 STAR★★★
NFL

Washington +8 over Seattle (NFL)

Playable range: +10 to +6

Why we like this pick

I like Washington getting more than a touchdown at home. Losing Jayden Daniels matters, but Marcus Mariota is an experienced replacement who played well in relief the previous week and is willing to challenge defenses downfield. Seattle is missing both starting safeties, Julian Love and Ty Okada, which creates an opportunity for Washington to find enough scoring plays to stay close. The Seahawks had converted only three of seven red-zone trips into touchdowns through two games. Washington’s own injuries and Seattle’s strong defense are concerns, but this number gives the Commanders room to cover without winning outright.

3 STAR★★★
NFL

Detroit -6.5 over N.Y. Jets (NFL)

Playable range: -5 to -8.5

Why we like this pick

I’m backing Detroit’s offensive balance at Ford Field, particularly with Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany trending toward a return to the line. Their presence would help the Lions establish the run and avoid obvious passing situations against a Jets defense that entered the game ranked first overall. Amon-Ra St. Brown’s strong start gives Jared Goff a dependable target to keep drives moving. The concern is Detroit’s defense, which had allowed too many explosive plays through two weeks. This pick depends on cleaner defensive execution and Detroit sustaining drives well enough to build a clear winning margin.
