Super Bowl
LV By the Numbers
With about
as dominating a performance as could be, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their
second Super
Bowl in franchise history with a 31-9 victory over the Kansas City
Chiefs.
It was the
Chiefs second straight appearance in the big game, but this one was much
different than a year ago. Last year’s MVP Patrick Mahomes was constantly
harassed by the Tampa Bay defense and the Chiefs failed to score a touchdown
for the first time with Mahomes as the starter.

There were
quite a few other interesting numbers from Sunday’s game. Here are a few.
They’re
Old
At 43 years
of age, Bucs QB Tom Brady became the oldest player to start a Super Bowl and
the oldest quarterback to win one. For Brady, it was his seventh Super Bowl
title, also an NFL record.
Tampa Bay
head coach Bruce Arians became the oldest to win a Super Bowl at 68 years and
127 days.
Bet on
Brady
Mark DeRosa
went all in on the Bucs when they announced that Brady would be coming to Tampa
Bay. The bettor laid down a total of approximately $20,000 on Tampa Bay to win
the NFC and for the Bucs to win the Super Bowl.
In
February, the Bucs were listed at +3500 to win the NFC and +6500 to win the
Super Bowl. Needless to say, DeRosa won a nice chunk of change.

Chiefs’
Miscues
Kansas City
just couldn’t do much of anything right on Super Bowl Sunday. They committed 11
penalties for 120 yards, including record eight for 95 yards in the first
half.
The Chiefs
became just the third team in NFL history to fail to score a touchdown in the
Super Bowl.

Jim
“Mattress Mack” McIngvale is well known for his outlandish commercials and
stunts associated with his business Gallery Furniture. He’s also well
known for placing extremely large bets on sporting events.
McIngvale
put $3.46 million on Tampa Bay to cover the 3.5-point spread in Super Bowl LV.
With the Bucs’ win, McIngvale pocketed a cool $2.72 million. Our pick probably
didn’t net you millions, but we did nail our Super
Bowl LV betting preview.
McIngvale’s
bet was one of six $1 million-plus bets on the game. There were two moneyline
bets - $2.5M and $1.16M - placed on the Chiefs. Another bettor followed
McIngvale with a $2.3 million bet on Tampa Bay to cover.

Rolling
One New
Jersey bettor caught fire and rolled himself right into a cool million dollars.
He first put up $275,000 on the Bucs +0.5 (-125) in the first quarter.
That bet
won, so he rolled that into a two-leg parlay on the Bucs +7.5 in the second
half and the second half Under of 28.5. The $486,000 bet was a winner earning
the lucky bettor $1 million.
Big 33
The Big 33 Football
Classic is a high school all-star game that has been played since 1958. There
has been at least one player that played in the Big 33 Football Classic in each
and every Super Bowl.
That streak
continued this season. The Chiefs’ Chad Henne, Yasir Durant, and Frank Clark
all played in the all-star game after their high school careers.
