There are times, and especially in college football, when waiting out the first
half is a great idea. What this does is allow you to evaluate how both teams
have prepared and played to that point and to have a better picture of who is
showing up to play and who isn’t.

Often gamblers look at a 2nd half as a new beginning, they may
approach the 2nd half as if the score was 0-0. This can be a big mistake.
Although technically speaking this is the right way to look at the math, what
you must do at half time if look at the 2nd half line and do the
math yourself and then determine if there Is valuer either way.
Rule
of Thumb:
You must know exactly what the spread was for the entire game, the moment it
went off the board. If you have forgotten the original spread and have no idea
what it was, then forget betting the 2nd half! Really, this is a
hard and fast rule that you must live by. Here is why, look at the following
example:

has a 39 point lead at halftime—
Second
half point spread—Michigan -11.5
Remember, Michigan is winning by 39 points at the half and they
are six points off the original spread of -44.5. As an 11.5 point 2nd
half favorite, what the oddsmakers are saying is this; they believe that the
line was wrong to begin with, and they think it was too low. Now, with an 11.5
second half spread, Michigan must win the game by 51 points in order to cover
the 11.5-- second half. It is now up to you to decide whether or not the
Michigan Wolverines will keep their foot on the gas and cover this spread.
North Dakota was really bad, will they improve?
